Recently got back from a little vacation to northern New Mexico (pictured above is Eagle Nest, NM). It’s one of those hidden gem getaway spots, kind of like how Destin, Florida was about 18-20 years ago (yes, I’m old enough to remember it back then). Growing up, I’ve been fortunate to have family connections in some pretty cool places, which made for awesome, but cheap, vacations; Taos, New Mexico being one of them. I get nostalgic when I drive down a gravel road, hear “I Saw the Sign” by Ace of Base (random, I know), or get a whiff of fresh mountain air. I crave yearly visits and feel odd when July and August roll around and I still haven’t made a trip.
You have probably noticed that a lot of my products in my shop are inspired by my many trips to Taos. I’ve become obsessed with the landscape, the adobe structures, and of course the amazing textiles. So if you’re looking for a new place to visit because you’ve been to every other awesome place the US has to offer, I recommend either Taos or Santa Fe. You won’t be disappointed. I promise.
